The following steps outline the process for turning in Quarter 2 grades/comments, semester 1 grades, and semester 1 exams if you give one.

1. Login to FA Web as you normally would and go to the Gradebook tab
2. Change the marking column to Multiple and click the little hand icon over the paper and make sure you select Q1, Q2, SEM 1, and EXAM if you are giving an exam.
3. Next you are going to set up a caluclation. Click the Setup tab.
4. Click Assign Calculations along the left hand side of the page. Click the button that says New and a new row will appear.
5. Change the marking column to semester 1, in the next column pick your first class, and in the final column select the appropriate option for exam/no exam (most of you will choose no exam as the option).
6. Click New and add the calculation for the balance of your 7th and 8th grade classes.
7. Click the grades tab. Check over your Q2 grade and make sure it looks good. Your semester 1 grade most likely will not be showing up. Here is what you'll do to force the calculation to kick in: If you average your grades to the whole number, type in a decimal after the numeric values in the Q2 marking column and press enter. A grade will appear. If you average to the tenths or hundredths, then add a zero at the end and press enter. NOTE: Teachers who gave an exam/project should enter the exam/project grade in the Exam marking column.
8. If you are entering a comment, click in the one of the cells in the Q2 grade column. Once your cursor is set in the cell, go over to the comments button and click it. A window will pop up for you to enter your comments. Go ahead and do so. Click save and close and you'll notice that the cell is now green, which is a visual cue that a comment has been entered. Repeat this step for each student that will be receiving a comment.
5. Save and save often.
6. When you are satisfied with your grades and comments it is now time to post. Click the posting status link and change the status to ready. Click Save and you are done with this section.
7. Repeat steps 3-6 for all other sections that you teach.
